Marty Hogan, candidate for City Council in 2007 believes that immigrants should be welcomed in Boston and throughout the United States; however there is an appropriate process to obtain the rights to stay here.
For many years, people have immigrated to this country. They have worked hard to obtain Visas, and even harder to earn citizenship and truly become an American. To bypass this process would be an injustice to the hard workers who value their naturalization.
Marty Hogan is seeking to have the City Council repeal this Resolution. There are economic and safety consequences for the residents of Boston with this resolution in place.
Marty Hogan believes that any immigrant who commits a crime should be
face deportation. Any immigrant that has come to this city through illegal
means has already committed a crime. They are not here by the way of the
law created to protect American citizens. These people should be given
opportunity to a due process to obtain the right to stay and failure to
comply should result in serious consequence.
